How does a molecular biologist become a jewelry maker?

Well, yes, a sharp change. Or maybe not so much? To be honest, I loved working in my first profession. I liked the daily consistency, that every day approx. I went to work at the same time and came home from work at the same time. Of course, this is not entirely true, because if I was teaching, or the experiment I was working on that day took longer, or I had to start earlier than usual, then I left earlier or stayed longer. But we had the rhythm of everyday work, we worked freely, but at the same time, the work was exciting and stimulating thinking and problem solving. Why did I switch to making jewelry?
