The other day, someone asked if the technique really matters that much. My answer is simply yes, but with this product, it can be illustrated particularly well. When I create the mandala pattern, there is no preconceived image I work from. As I stamp each element one by one, their sequence unfolds during the process. The goal is always a beautiful, harmonious pattern, into which the customer's requested additional inscription (monograms, names, dates, words) is incorporated during the process. The number and length of these are given, so this is the only guideline that determines the mandala pattern where I hide these unique ideas, in such a way that they perfectly blend into the overall picture. With these creations, I can show the true beauty of metal stamping. No, machine engraving cannot do this. You might be able to engrave a mandala downloaded from the internet, which anyone can access, onto metal. It will certainly be beautiful, but it won't have that extra something that patterns stamped one by one, with endless possibilities for variation, provide. No two mandalas made with this method are ever the same. Only if I wanted them to be (but I don't). When I weave your unique requests, monograms, names, words, values, and dates into the pattern, it will surely be as unrepeatable as your story.
In addition, metal stamping gives the surface such a beautiful texture that engraving cannot replicate. Its imperfection makes the whole thing so special, clearly showing that it is the work of careful hands, long hours of attention, and creativity. No automated technique will be able to reproduce this. Machine work may be fast and cheap, but perhaps these are not what give an object its value, right?
